Some books about wars are sometimes slow paced, and somewhat boring. This book sounds like it has action and therefore sounds like it may be an interesting read. I love books that can transport the reader into the story, and it seems like this may be one of those stories. Congratulations on BOTD.

I like the German title and story sounds interesting since it’s based on historical events. I’ll check it out.

Something about this book was a complete miss to me; I wish I could more say why. Outside of a lot of the cultural setting up, this book can't bring me in.

From a sampling, this is an interesting historical fiction surrounding a group of men trained to be Serbia's protectors from a possible German/Austrian attack in retaliation for one of the most influential assassinations in within the last century. Well Done.

I'd had classes on this topic way back in school. I'd enjoyed listening to the build-up of events leading to the war. From the review, it appears reading it would also be just as fun as listening. I do need a refresher course on it, anyway. Thanks for piquing my interest.

I enjoyed reading world war related books be it in fuction or non-fiction. I will definitely read this book, however since this book is the second one in trilogy series, I will have to read the first book first before I touch this second book.

I've seen some of the film's on world war 2. But I never read a non-fictional story about it. I think I'll read this book once I finish reading my current book.

'Official Review: Kaiserjaiger by Ronald Mcqueen' well summarizes the themes of the story. It was encouraging to learn about the author's parents' role in writing his book! The perfect rating gives a satisfying idea about the book!

Kaiserjaeger by Ronald McQueen (Book 2 in the Drava Trilogy) is a historical fiction about the outbreak of World War I, particularly in Eastern Europe, not World War II. The main characters are members of the elite Kaiserjaeger units of the common Austrian-Hungary army at that time. Information available on Wikipedia shows that the Kaiserjaeger was formed in 1895 and disbanded in 1918. The World War I erupted in July 1914, with the assassination of the monarch, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to Austrian-Hungarian empire, in Sarajevo, and ended in November 1918, the same year the Kaiserjaeger was disbanded.

This historical fiction novel, Kaiserjaeger, finds the lead characters, including August Thaller, as they fight in the mountains. The book looks into the backstories of the characters that we meet for the first time in Book 1, Cossack.

I realize only now that I have much to learn about World War I and Eastern Europe during that time, beyond the textbook retelling. Perhaps, McQueen's fictional dramatization based on history could help me deepen my appreciation of that era in history.

Great job on the review. I have found myself enjoying stories set around World war II and the effects on different nations and people. Andrei's coming of age experience at the time of war makes for an intriguing read. Can't wait to enjoy the book.

Great and very insightful review.
I am not into war-related books, historical fiction is not my cup of tea. I will pass. Congrats on being BOTD 💐💐👍🏻👍🏻

I don't think that this book is for me. I don't like to read books based off of events. I also don't like to read about the time of World War II. I will pass on reading this book.

This book provides to me an additional perspective on WW2. The Kaiserjaeger or Emperor's elite troops is something new to me. Even though it's a fiction, it nevertheless provides something to ponder about. Nice review.
