This book sounds like it has so much going on that it would be hard to follow. As it is about war, it makes sense that there would be a lot of politics and contries all getting involved. But, it just sounds too chaotic for me.

Thank you for the excellent review! I normally pass on war stories because I don’t handle the topic very well, but my interest is piqued by the Austrian mountains and the lovely descriptive writing I gleaned in the sample. Putting this one on the maybe list!

Your review described the story well. The characters and action sound appealing. The focus on Austria is interesting, as it is more usual to hear about England, France, and Italy, etc. thanks for the review.

This is not my kind of book. War stories are often really graphic so I would not read this one.

I like your review and I can immediately picture this story line in my head. I am a fan of books and movies that take place around the time of a war because it shows the intricacies of human behavior. There is a grey line between right and wrong which is explored in war themed books. I like that it also takes place in Austria because I can easily imagine the beautiful mountains.

Kaiserjaeger by Ronald McQueen is a #HistoricalFiction inspired by events that happened during the end of World War II. The area of focus is Austria, and the story depicts the Emperor’s elite troops (aka the Kaiserjaeger) on a mission to fight the enemy in the mountains.

Thanks for the review.

I have heard of other elite troops from other countries but this is the first time I heard about the Kaiserjaeger. From reading your review, I can already imagine plenty of action-packed scenes. I added it to my to-read list.

Under the blanket of Austria during the Second World War, a tale unfolds. The story of a trained marksman, a young boy becoming a man, and a suspicious figure who are inherently linked under the strict adherence of war. The premise of the book presents an astonishing tapestry for a collaboration fiction novel. As the author draws on his known experience of World War II, it is predicted that this narrative is quite enthralling.

I enjoy action books but I'm not very keen on books about war. That being said, it sounds as if the characters of Andrei and August are intriguing, and therefore I'm willing to at least give the book a shot. Thanks for the read and review!

I'm not really into war stories. However I do commend the author for writing it. I also find it strange that it's young adult. This is going to be a no from me.

From your review it sounds like a great book. I'm just curious did you read the first book before this one, and if not do you wish you did. I am someone who does not like to go out of order, but your review sounded like you could read it alone. Thanks for the review.

I like that the book is based on true events from WWII. To be honest, I've never heard of the Kaiserjaeger, but they sound like an interesting group of elite troops. Hopefully August, Andrei, and Harald will survive with the surprises they will face in the mountains! I find it very sweet that the author used his parents' experiences during WWII to develop this story. Vivid descriptions, great writing, and developed characters? Sounds like this book has it all! Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of reading a lot of death and destruction, so I'll pass on this, but thank you for sharing your thoughts!

You did a good review. This book is a historical fiction regarding the end of WWII. I'm not really into war stories, but it sounds interesting.
