Wow! A crime thriller is always a delightful read. The murder of Kilgory brothers along with a palpable storyline makes the book more interesting. I would love to read it. Congrats on BOTD.

Agree with you on the writing, Supergirl1. From what I've sampled, Allen's prose is crisp and clear with next to no errors. Great job with this review.

Sounds like a good read. Clarence Withers, a professional gambler, winds up killing one of the notorious Kilgory brothers then flees to the peaceful town of Normal. I sure hope that everything remains normal in Normal! Congrats to the author for winning BOTD.

This books sounds interesting. A book about old Texas seems fun. I like that it’s historical fiction so you get a fun plot and also learn a little about old Texas. Thanks for your review.

Thanks for making me know more about this book. It sounds like a novel I'll really adore as a fan of historical fiction. I'll be thrilled to learn about this ancient tribe of runners called the Tarahumara; what a unique hunting style!

I've added this book to my TBR shelf, and after reading your review I'm even more eager to read it. A story about a gambler in Texas who gets involved in a murder seems realistic, even though this is a historical fiction book.

From this book I learned about an ancient tribe of runners called the Tarahumara. This tribe was famous for their unique hunting style, which involved chasing their prey over very long distances until it became tired and could no longer run.
I too didn't think that there is a tribe called Tarahumara. Thanks for this review.
