I am a fan of love stories but not that into war stories, making me a bit torn on whether to go or not to go for this book. I will ponder within myself and whatever wills, will win. Thanks for the great review.

To refer to a war as police action feels to me like a mockery of human life. Kudos to the author for enlightening us about the Viet war and its effect on the characters,.

I love that the author added authentic details about the Vietnam War. It's a time period I'd like to learn more about, so I might give this one a shot. Thanks for a great review!

This sounds very interesting indeed. I've seen movies about the Vietnam War, and I loved the musical Miss Saigon which drew heavily on this particular moment in history. I don't think I've read a narrative that focused entirely on it though. I agree that the explicit scenes do seem unnecessary, but overall, this seems like one you've got to try if you're a fan of historical fiction. Thank you for this review.

Quite interesting how the author combines the realism of the war scenes with some humorous parts. I welcome such moments of respite in a narrative. They make it sound more credible. I'd like to read and find out more about the Vietnam war. Thanks for a great review!

It's nice when an author can use their own experiences to create a detailed work. I don't find these types of books very interesting, but I appreciate your review!

Sounds like an interesting wartime romance especially because it seems to not be the cliche' protagonists being from the warring sides. Its a pity about the explicit sex scenes. Great review!

I am into historical fiction and coming-of-age stories, but I am not interested in war. I had my fair share of knowledge about the Vietnam war from my highschool lessons on History. I admire your review, but I'll bypass reading this book.

Charming review Stacy! I'm already intrigued by the book. Opportunities to learn more about wars and history is always something I pounce upon, but I'm afraid too many sex scenes in a historical fiction would affect my overall opinion of the book. Thank you for your review.

I think it's very cool that he wrote this historical novel based on something he himself had experienced. It certainly sounds like this really paid off.
