Like you, I'm a big fan of historical fiction. It's one of my top go-to genres. I'm glad to hear that it's so good. I love the addition of the Women's Suffrage Movement...a topic that has always been dear to my heart. If you want to watch an excellent film about the movement, I recommend "Iron-Jawed Angels," if you haven't already seen it.

Thanks for the insightful review!

I just recently finished another historical fiction book and I loved it. I also love a good romance novel so it’s a bonus when the two are mixed together. I think this will be a great read and is definitely getting added to my want to read list.

Love bloomed improperly, but other interests got the better of this woman, involving her in the Suffragist's movement. She seemed to have found her calling and therein she realized her worth. Thank you for this comprehensive review.

This is an historical fiction and a romance novel. I loved it. Penelope feelings for Mr. Daggers, a married are unjustified. She loves a married man! It's ironical that her parents want her to go and stay with the daggers family when they are having a financial crisis. That's unfortunate considering she had feelings for Mr. Daggers.

I'm interested in reading historical fiction but don't read much romance. I also like reading about historical events. This book sounds like something I would be interested in reading. Thanks for the review, I have added the book to my bookshelf.

Although I don't subscribe to the social justice movement, I don't mind immersing myself in the perspective of a woman who hopped on the suffragette bandwagon back in 1893. That alone leaves me willing to sample the book.

I sampled it on Amazon. The lead character Penelope Stantonwith is entangled in relationships to find her life-partner. The drama unfolds with an interesting description of the circumstances. The story is set in the nineteenth century. A well-written historical fiction by Diana Forbes. As mentioned in the official review on OBC by JessNWheeler this will be a nice read especially for people interested in historical fiction. :) :)

Thanks for the review. I loved the laid plot of the book. The character, Penelope, is defined and described beautifully. Her journey of becoming a suffragist must be worth reading. I really like reading about fiction and as the reviewer wrote that it also deals with social issue, It makes it a must read.
