Billy is an orphan living in the Texas/Oklahoma area. He is always coming up with a new plan to make money and help his crew of orphans and friends, the Woods Gang. The book opens in 1903 when Billy is still a child and spans the rest of his life. At the opening, Billy is attempting to figure out the best way to rob a train. He believes that if they play it right, it can be blamed on a gang in the area, and they will be able to get away scot-free. Will they be able to rob the train? What will Billy think of next? Read the exciting novel Woodville Bill by Micky Emerald to find out!

The fast pace of this novel is one of its greatest strengths. Billy is a character who cannot sit still, and the pace of the book reflects this. He was always working towards his next plan. For example, at the beginning of the book, he and his crew relentlessly plan how to rob a train. They are convinced that this is the best way to make money. As Prohibition drew nearer, Billy's next scheme was making moonshine and joining the ranks of the bootleggers. Each of Billy's new adventures drove the plot along and made sure there was never a dull moment in the book.

Unfortunately, there were a number of errors in the book. Errors include spelling and punctuation mistakes. It could use additional proofreading. If the book were to be thoroughly proofread, there would be nothing to dislike about it.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. Due to the number of errors, I am taking a star off the rating. Otherwise, this is a fast-paced novel that is sure to speak to historical fiction enthusiasts. The character of Billy is fascinating. Though not a good guy, he is one you cannot help but root for and hope for him to succeed. Due to profanity throughout the book, I believe it is best suited for adult audiences. If you enjoy novels based in the Prohibition area, then look no further than Woodville Bill!
