Nicely written review. Thank you for sharing. I like how you start with the end and end with the start...

I come from Puerto Rico (we had Taínos) and I have degrees in history so this is something I might read just to see the author’s perspective. Thanks for the review!

Interesting review for a seemingly interesting book. It takes me back to my Caribbean History lessons ( I live in the Caribbean so that's the history I was taught).

Thanks for reading and commenting - it probably wouldn't be so interesting for you, if you've been over it all in your schooldays.

What a wonderful and insightful review. I, too, find great irony in Isabella advocating the humanity of the Tainos, only to command them to adhere to her own religious beliefs. Such was the way of the world, unfortunately. The characters sound believable, especially for the time.

As an American Indigenous person myself, I am drawn to stories that tell of the history of our peoples. Especially in this time where attempts are being made to erase any reference to the negative issues concerning the treatment of our people. Both past and present.

I commend Marc Wilson for his courage in stepping forward to create a story about an issue that could be seen as controversial in some circles. Altho it is written as fiction, your review would have me believe that he has done quite a bit of research before he began writing.

I enjoy fiction that has a non-fiction element woven into the fabric of it's storyline. Looking forward to reading Kidnapped by Columbus.

Thank you for your well written review.

Good point about Wilson. Thanks for reading and for your kind comments. Yes, I believe the book has been well-researched, although what the author says in the accompanying notes may not come as news to you.

The title seems biased on one account :Colombus first mission was to explore the route to China at around 1843 .Slavery during this period was a lifestyle and a form of employment as we have no record of slaves being killed though.
However the title is fit for the this centuary whereby the country discovered by Columbus is now leading in slavery
