I'm honestly surprised I haven't heard of this book before. I am in love with historical fiction books set in the Westward Expansion period of history. I am so excited to get my hands on this book!

A historical novel about life in the Wild West and the gold rush sounds intriguing. Throwing romance into the mix should add the intrigue. It is good there was a perfect balance between fiction and historical facts and that the errors were fixed. Thank you for the review!

Historical fiction is not my genre, but I can appreciate a good love story and a set of well fleshed out characters.

I don't blame Steel for not wanting to join his father in the rush of finding gold. Wonder what's going to happen with Savannah? I can only imagine what it must of been like to see how people were not treated with respect in the uncivilized west. Glad that you enjoyed this one very much, and that the balance of good storytelling and historical fiction worked out well. I actually don't know any of the names you mentioned, but it's nice to know that the balance of the book could hold both a woman's and man's attention. That's too bad that there were so many errors in the version that you received, but it looks like the mistakes were fixed, which is great! Glad you enjoyed this tale, and thanks for sharing!

Although I like historical fiction, the wild west is something that doesn't keep my interest. Maybe if the story would contain very strong and believable characters...

An intriguing story of loss, courage, and love. It has suspense, action, and well-developed characters. I am glad you enjoyed it! I am also glad the editing errors were fixed. Fans of historical fiction should check it out! However, I will pass on this one as it is not my genre. Thank you for the detailed review!

This is a historical fiction novel. Steel does not wish to follow the footsteps of his father. He wants to run his grandfather's business. However, he ends up going to Deadwood, a land of gold and discovers something more valuable. Thanks for the review.

This story sounds like an adventure for Steel and his father to go out West and pan for gold. It is interesting that Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane are included in the story. It is good to know that the errors were corrected after your review!
