I agree with kandscreely, the title didn’t grab me or really give me a sense of what the novel is about. Thank goodness for your review. I love when an author creates “team” protagonists, as I often find the dynamic between the two characters (if done right) is as entertaining as the story itself. And the fact that the author inserted gentle humor into a book about war is intriguing. I am going to add this to my self all thanks to your wonderful review. Thank you!kandscreeley wrote: ↑24 Mar 2018, 19:13 I like books set in that time period. The title just isn't descriptive enough for me to have picked this up on my own. But now that you have introduced it to me and given it a high rating, I'll have to look into it. Thanks.

If you enjoy historical fiction, this book is for you. The characters are complex and engaging and the author does a beautiful job of weaving actual historical events into the story. It's educational and entertaining at the same time. Well done, Greg Kater.
