Your wonderfully thought out review has me so excited to read this book! I love historical fiction, and I love mythology. I also love strong women being portrayed in novels. This sounds like all of those things combined, and done well. Oh my goodness do you have me excited to read this book! Catrin sounds like a wonderfully complex character that I will thoroughly enjoy getting to know. Thank you so much!

Say. No. More. History and mythology?? That's all this girl needs! And your review certainly did the trick in making me all the more intrigued. Thanks for such an amazing review.

I love this story. The sentence "Catrin possesses the mystical powers of the ancient Druids;" reminds me of the legendary old wives tale in the movie - "Merlin". This book is my kind of genre. I have to read this book and see how the story ends. Thanks for the wonderful review!

I love this genre of book and I think your in-depth review does justice to the in-depth coverage of the topic by Tanner. However, I often get nervous when a book is only the first in a "series" because I can't help but wonder how long the entire series will be and will the following books do justice to the first one. So often Book# 1 has taken a long time to construct but then with publication deadlines and demands the next one's in the series just aren't up to par. Do I have a reason to be hesitant or should I still "Go for it!"?

I enjoyed reading your review. It sounds very intriguing. I appreciate the professional editing. I loved the strong female characters and the legends and myths interwoven into the story.

The premise and the review is promising. Forbidden love, ancient warrior princesses, a story intermingled with roman and celtic myths. I put it to read list so we'll see. Thanks for the review.

Wow. After reading this review I definitely must read this book. With history, fantasy and romance it looks like a novel right down my alley. And it can be seen that a reviewer really enjoyed it as well.

Apollo’s Raven sounds like a great start to a series. Packed with well-developed characters and strong female leads as well as mythical elements. It’s sure to appeal to readers of historical fantasy and romance.

I’ve read this book, and I really enjoyed it! I just struggled with the author’s descriptions of Catrin melding her mind with her raven. The imagery was confusing. Nonetheless, this book definitely is worthy of all the awards it has won!
There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!

I tried reading this one, but the historical inaccuracies and the erotic love scenes were too much. It definitely should not be recommended for all be ages. It's primarily a steamy romance thrown in a historical/fantasy setting.

I just started reading this book about a week ago, and I am enjoying it a great deal. Had I not already picked it out, your review might have been just the nudge that I needed. I really enjoy historical fiction, and the budding romance is key to the story, but I am finding the sex scenes to be more graphic than necessary considering the description level of other scenes.
