I do normally enjoy books that are set within World War 2 and this sounds like a very good one about family and hardships. I'll definitely check it out.

This is the first book I am seeing that has been set in Prague, Paris, and England during the years 1938 to 1945. The fact that it features real characters makes a good enough reason for me to read it!

Fantastic review! I've been a fan of historical fiction novels for a while now and this genre still amuses me. This book offers a fresh perspective on how the English reacted on "foreigners" during Hitler's time. Definitely up for reading this.

I do enjoy stories based on true historical happenings. I think I would enjoy this book. The fact that the main character develops into a strong woman is intriguing. Great review!

Excellent review! The reviewer seems enjoyed reading this historical fiction novel. The story includes the situations existed in England during World War 2. Lena is the protagonist in the novel. The author drew he character very efficiently. The novel is grammatically error-free. This well-written novel could be a good read for those who like historical fictions, especially war stories.

I enjoy stories written about WWII that aren't from the usual perspective. There was so much going on at the time, but sometimes we only focus on one aspect. Sounds like this is a great story. Thanks for showing it to us! first time doing this

A brilliantly written novel touching on the human aspects away from the war front, such as political beliefs. It's quite traumatizing for Lena, the protagonist, as she is also forced to think of the safety of her younger sister and mother. Great review.

This book seems like a wonderful pick for historical fiction fans, such as myself. I especially love books set in the WWII era. It's great to know that there is so much character development in Lena. She starts off from this naive girl to a more analytical thinker as the story progresses. I'm glad that this book touches upon difficult subjects. I also like that it's filled with three-dimensional characters. All of that seem like it would make this book a very engaging read. Thank you so much for your review!

Thanks for the review. I love that this is a historical fiction and has a little bit of other themes on the side. The fact that it is centered around a female lead definitely is a plus.

World War II isn't my favorite era to learn about but I love historical fiction and I think this perspective is fascinating. As an American, I've learned only a minimal amount about what happened during WWII in England, so this book ought to shed new light on this tragic event for me. Thank you for the thorough review.

A historical fiction set around World War II with such a captivating story line. I can't wait to read the book just to find out if Lena and Otto made it as a couple and the aftermath of the war on their individual stance. Congratulations to the author for making #BOTD
