Billy set sail in 1894 on the SS China for the Far East. Yet, trouble lingered behind into a strange Baroness German. Also, he faced the dangerous Chinese and Malay Pirates in the South China Sea as well as the officials of the German Government.
Soon after there was conflict with the bloody anti French insurgency in Indo-China (now Southeast Asia). He is now the first American Combatant in a country that became Vietnam.
But as the 19 century close the 20th century open with Political exploiters, informers, revolutionist and the list goes on.
How he fight these storm, book two of 'The Improbable Journeys of Billy Battles' trilogy by Ronald E. Yates will tell it all as his Kansas background by Improbable unfolded.

Thanks for such a great review though maybe for me I may be more interested in this book if I had read book 1 in the series

Ya know, I think I will enjoy this one. I'm a great fan of historical novel and I am missing out some wanderlust. So I'd love a journey back in time! Thanks for the recommendation. Love the review. ;)

I love historical fiction but I'm not sure whether to be committed in reading this book since I have preference in reading stand alone book over series book. I will read this free book first and then I will decide.

Thanks for a great review. You went and summarised the book in one of the briefest ways. I presume that you never intended to disclose much lest you give away spoilers.
Your views on the book are also open and candid.
I would say for me I may not read this book at this time. Though it will remain on my Kindle so that I can have a future consideration.

Interesting and irresistible are the key words here, love the fact that it has somewhat different and unique story which is hard to find in this genre. However, I'd like to know if there's a link to download the first book since trilogies are almost exclusively correlated and would hate myself for missing the first part.

Review is in depth and well written piece of work and mainly the only thing that drew me to this book. Looking forward to review this one myself.

This may seem weird but the plot reminds me of The Wizard of Oz in a way :D . I like the novel's focus on characterization. I might like this one.

I always love a story with well-built characters. This one seems to be too political for me though. I'll have to pass. Thank you for your review.

I read the amazon description of Book One, wanting more info on the whole series, (this being a review on Book Two) and found it kinda interesting the story of the widely traveled Billy Banks! :) Apparently, where ever he went, trouble was sure to follow! LOL
