This sounds like an interesting book from the review. I already feel familiar with the story.

I feel sorry for Rolf. I'd like to know how he survived the nightmare and how he kept his identity hidden. It sounds like an interesting war novel. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the review. The book, as is obvious, is based on sensitive subject i.e. war. I have read couple of novels based on this subject and reading these books always gives us insight on the life of soldiers. This novel seems to be pretty emotional too. This must be great work!

It is sad that Rolf is given away by his nightmares, and that his identity is gradually being exposed for being a German that he is. The subconscious has a way of letting the unknown exposed, and that includes secrets that ought to be hidden. I am intrigued by what will eventually happen to Rolf at the end. Thank you for your interesting review.

I can't get my mind off stories of wars whenever i read people dying. Soldier Rolf most have gone through traumatic experiences that his nightmares endangered him the more. What a wonderful story but painful. The review is quite enjoyable!

I'm not sure if I am ready for another intense read yet. But I will definitely read this someday and hopefully, this year. For now, I'm going to add this on my TBR. Thanks for sharing your idea about the book with us!

This is such a deep and tragic story, not the type of book I enjoy, but for anyone who does this style of reading, it is a great read. It appears well written, and very much pulls ypu in to see what happens next.

The shock of war could wreak havoc on the consciousness of the poor soldiers. They could suffer impairment of their mental faculties. Rolf here carried the stress up to his refugee days in Australia in the form of recurrent nightmares which gave away his identity, or so it seems. Thanks for your great review.

I am realizing that I am a fan of historical fiction, which sometimes includes the war genre. Based on the review, I am interested in Reece Pocock's "Refugee." With the realistic, heart-wrenching, and tear-jerking scenes, however, I will probably need to mentally prepare myself before reading.
