I think Acts of Sedition by Dennis Stephan is timely and interesting, though discomforting and scary at the same time. I am likely to read this book. Great review!

I understand when you say reading the book scared you. I got scared just reading your review. I sure hope this story remains a fiction forever.

Due to the graphic sexual scenes, I don't think this would be a good book for me. I also don't like to read dystopian novels either. Great job on the review!

Thanks for the review and for the heads up on the sexual content. I was going to read until I saw the bit where you mentioned that there would be some graphic scenes! Those are the dealbreakers for me.

Acts of sedition is a nightmare for any woman in occidental world. I can imagine a world where i am not able to work what I have studied for a lot of year. Women in north America have a lot of freedom, a lot of the them have fight large for to be heard, for to have the place they deserve. A 360 degrees change like this book shows would be a sad and terrible situation, very hard to accept it. No right, no voice, been reduced to almost nothing by Muslim laws is something I wouldn't like to be witness 😔. :techie-studyinggray:

I agree with your thoughts that this closely mirrors our current political hysteria. How many people thought that Obama was a Muslim that was going to impose sharia law? Sounds like a modern day Handmaiden's Tale horror story.

I really don't think that the political system works, but the direction that the people in this book take, is even worse. Where is the book that outlines how to reach utopia?

This book represents my worst nightmare: A totalitarian government. I do not think it depicts America's current situation, not yet. However, it does give me a 1984 by George Orwell vibe. I think I will read this book. Thank you for the review.

I Am not normally interesting in political thrillers. But after reading the review it has peaked my interest. I would recommend this book and may pick it up myself.

Thanks for this great review. The book sounds like reading tomorrow's newspaper. I think everything is in place for this to occur sooner than 2045. Maybe, the author is prophetic or has read the greatest book ever written...The Bible.

Wow, this does seem a little to close for comfort to todays life as you mentioned. It does sound like a great read though and could possibly be an eye opener for some. Great job on the review and thank you for sharing. I will be adding this to my list.

Sounds amazingly contemporary. I don't think that this would happen in the USA but I'm sure a few parts are experienced by people around the world. I'm glad to be notified about the adult scenes which I don't like but overall it sounds like an amazing read. Congrats on the review!

Hmmm, I certainly hope these predictions stop right where they are; in this book! They do sound too close to home, but then again, that's a bonus to the author's skill for making it happen. Too bad about the editing errors though.

This political thriller seems more like a freak horror show! I'm not sure I can read it, but like a train wreck I cant look away. I worry for our kids and our country...
