This book is definitely political. The concept of having a president impose sharia law seems to echo the fears of the right-leaning folks during the Obama era. The book comes at a dangerous time when Muslim and other middle eastern folks are already facing such racist and discriminatory remarks and legislation from the current president. The protagonists who work to overthrow the dictator are also from the middle east and so it seems as though the author tries to balance the scales a bit. I look forward to analyzing this book. Thank you for the review.

Wow! I like how this book takes no prisoners right from the word go. The author did a good job of projecting the future in a realistic way. In fact, the realism in this book is a little scary. Though a work of fiction, this book is no fiction.

The orthodox order seems to be settling down in not only the US but other parts of the world as well. The premise of this book seems relevant and would be interesting to see the approach towards solving such problem, if it arises to this extent.

This book talks about some challenges some countries are facing, religion and gender inequality issues. And also make us to know that no matter how long a dictator tries to rule, there will always be a revolution that will stand and fight for the better good of the country like in cases of idi-amin of Uganda, Gaddafi of Libya, and recently Mugabe of Zimbabwe and lots more.

You had me wanting to read the book until you mentioned the graphic sexual content. Guess I’ll give this one a skip.

Great review. The story line brought to mind why we must all be interested in the current happenings in the world. Some issues in the review are describing the current state of some if not most African countries that have presidents who never want to leave and keep changing the constitution to suit themselves and not the people they are supposedly serving. I totally agree with one of the comments that it would make a great movie.

After years of moral decay brought about by a corrupt government and society, Americans felt that it was time to take the country in a new direction; a “back to roots” approach to governing. The result of this mindset was the election of the first Muslim president in 2044. The president is more radical in his policies than the American people either expected or wanted. But what can they do now? An antithetical group of everyday people, under the leadership of a former senior Army officer and war hero, are turned into warriors, fighting what could amount to the second civil war. “Acts of Sedition” is a gripping account of the change that occurred in the US under the first Muslim president and the story of the tense struggle between the democratically elected commander in chief and the leaders of a resistance movement who are determined to bring about change at all costs. Their actions are daring but they are the traitors.

I'm confused. It feels like this book would insult a lot of people? Anyway, thank you for your detailed review of it.
