I agree that blood isn't always thicker than water! This book sounds so interesting. Thank you for the review.

Beautiful review of an interesting book. Pity that the grammatical errors were so abundant that the rating had to go down.

I have also missed you guys and books too!! I have been super busy with my semester since last four months, so couldn't find time to read novels and write reviews. Now, it's vacations :) :) and I am finally back to my favorite routine :tiphat: :tiphat: :)

That title was eye-catching in the way it subverted the popular saying. So, this is a tale of how non-family members, especially Pearl, are more loving and caring than the 'lost' family members. With the stories of how individuals showed kindness in the face of inter-racial tensions, this book demonstrates how we are all connected. Thanks for a great review!

Books that center on the theme of forgiveness and reconciliation are the best for this generation. We have become used to hatred such that it has become almost impossible to love and forgive. Yet forgiveness goes in a long way in healing past wounds. Thanks for pointing this out in your review.

This sounds like an interesting book to read to get a sense of the black/white issues that have plagued this country for so long and how these issues have affected the black family in particular. Thank you for your review.

Seems an intense book with many characters. It's uplifting that during the 'curse of slavery,' some of the characters had their hearts (or is it blood?) in the right place.

Great review, I like the quote that started it!!!

Sounds like a really interesting book that covers the intricacies of a very dark time in history. Thank you for your detailed review.

Great and detailed review, good job. By my opinion too harsh to give one star lesser becouse of couple of grammar errors but i didn't read the book yet, and i don't know how big they are. Continue with great reviews!
