How fascinating that the author decided to write a fictional account of her ancestor's life! She was brave indeed to walk the path of a never-wed mother in those days. The Napoleonic wars were devastating for so many countries. It's good to know that you found this so compelling.
This post was brought to you by the word "specifically".

I’m really excited about this one! Historical fiction is my favorite genre and the 1800s are my favorite era, plus this book has the benefit of being based on a true story! Sounds like a winner - this is next on my list.

Naturally, I don't find history tales interesting and only read them when I don't have a choice (like preparing for quiz). Thanks for pointing out everything that makes it interesting. This will propel me to read it, knowing that I won't be bored.

This sounds like a beautifully written book and I especially love the cover art. I am a fan of historical fiction because it teaches you things that you may not have learned from your history classes. I like that the main character is a real person and the great, great grandmother of the author no less. My favorite part is that the book's setting is after the Napoleonic Wars which I have learned about, but not in depth.

ANASTASIA'S BOOK OF THE DAY
Well, this review is really getting into my brain, I'm sure this book will be a great read, even without a cover yet, is rated at 4 star. Is a work of historical fiction, about a struggle of an independent never-married mother of three, I'm sure everyone would enjoy reading this book, I applaud the authors intellectuaity.

I love Jane Austen novels and historical fiction so this seems like just the kind of book I would read. I like that it's written in first person too. Great job on your review!

Just yesterday my German friend and I lamented that there aren't enough historical German fiction set before WW II. Can't wait to get started on this one. Thanks for a wonderful and in-depth review.

I love Jane Austen! Oh my gosh, thank God I came across your review. I was a bit skeptical about this book because there are no reviews in Amazon. But srsly, thanks for this. Im going to give this a try.

Anastasia's Book of Day by Cindy Maynard is my typical narrative. I love historical books, so, it's nice to know that this one details the facts, dates, and people in German History, using the life of Anastasia Burkart.

A story of a girl in the 1800's who doesn't want to live the life that is expected of the times sounds interesting. Comparing this to the writings of Jane Austen gives it a thumbs up for me. Congrats on being BOTD

I'm not sure that this will be a book for me. It hasn't grabbed my attention and made me eager to read. Thanks for the interesting review!

I wasn't 100% sold on the book, it seemed a bit dull from just the blurb and title. Your review makes it sound a lot more personable and interesting. I like that it looked through Anastasia's eyes as she grows up, as well as including historical facts. Great review
