This book sounds so sweet. It's hard to pass up a good "how-dad-met-mom" kind of story, even during a time as troubling as the Great Depression. I'm a sucker for good historical fiction, too. Thank you for the helpful review.

It's an interesting historical fiction book depicting the importance of family relationships, love and hope.

I'll read a couple chapters of the book before making a final decision on whether I'll be finishing it or not. I like the main concept of the story, though. It seems like an interesting story about family, unity, and a love that lasts forever. We'll see. Regardless, thank you for the review.

Sounds like a truly good book to read given that you saw it fit to give it 4 out of 4 stars. I'll get around to read it.

The synopsis on Amazon was heavy on the religious aspects, but your review did not mention that so I'm wondering if it is overtly religious. I do love historical fiction and it sounds like a great story. It would be a shame to have to pass it up because of it being religious, as I do not read books marked as religion/spirituality. I do thank you for your insight on the book.

How strong is the religious theme in this book? The title gives me a lot of pause. Your review doesn’t seem to touch on that theme, though, so I’m wondering if perhaps it’s not bad enough to keep me from reading.

I imagine the losing your husband of many years would be quite lonely when you are 72. I am curious how her parents love-story will help her to deal with the loss of her husband.

Great review, Ayisha! This book sounds like it has a lot of depth in character development, and some valuable themes around family values, integrity, and dealing with loss. I don't generally read historical fiction, but I will give any genre a try if done particularly well.

Am sure the husband of the seventy-two-year-old woman will be about 75. It interests me to know the worry this woman expressed on the death of her husband at that age. I can see this is a long story. Thanks for the review.

Great review! I was interested in reading this book after I read the brief review on Amazon. Getting just a small glimpse of the characters and events inside the book, I knew that I would be adding this book to my "want to read" shelf.

After reading your review, I was able to make a connection to the characters. You were able to bring the characters to life using descriptive words that allowed me to get a feel of each character as well as the events that each one experienced. Sometimes a few illustrative words placed in the right spot can achieve more than a lot of useless words that does not personify the characters. Your review is full of detailed information that allows the reader to make a connection to the characters as well as the events in their lives. This is definitely a book that I will be reading very soon.

I was so touch by the book. I like the way the author conveyed the message, the need for family to live in harmony and unity.
