I love the story of Gideon in the Bible. He's one of the underrated Bible heroes, to be honest. It would be awesome to read a retelling!

The Old Testament stories are as fascinating and mysterious as are the characters that are involved in them. Excellent review here.

It does sound like a really interesting book. It will be nice to know how the characters lived in the Bible with a view of expanding the horizon.
Kudos

This one is next on my reading list, but perhaps I need to go back to Judges and read the Biblical version first. I find I know plenty about David, but remember Gideon only because he was whittled down to 300 men (do I have the right one?). I've always used my hand to drink ever since I was told the story at Sunday School!

I love novelized Bible stories and I own a few, but I've never heard of this one. Your review makes me excited to read this one, as I have never read a novel focused on Gideon. A well-written Bible story novelization helps me identify with the people in the Bible and reminds me that they were emotional and vulnerable, making them easier to relate to. Thanks for the review and recommendation!
