This sounded like a really interesting story but I had issues reading it because of the frequent lengthy paragraphs that had a lot of information dumps. It was hard to keep up with everything. Your review makes me want to give it another shot. Thanks for the great review.

This sounds very interesting! I may read this when I get a chance. I enjoy biblical stories, and this sounds like it won't disappoint.

Bible is the bottomless source of various stories: the more people to retell these stories the more interpretations there are. I like to read such stories. What else tempts me to read this book after reading the review is that author wrote the retelling of these several Bible stories in his own way making it more accessible and understandable for the modern reader. Thanks for making it free. I've downloaded my copy.

As someone who has read these particular stories many, many times, it is not interesting to me. It would be like a retelling of a fairytale, not my cup of tea. I'm glad you liked it. Nice and thorough review.

Turning Biblical stories into fictional renditions is an incredibly satisfying enterprise. To say that the Bible lives is one thing. To enable the Bible to come to life through the pen of a writer is another thing that God enables His creatures to accomplish.

:) Joseph Ganci has really done a very good job. Most people tend to see the bible as very boring, but with books like this stories in the bible will be easier to read and interesting.

The book sounds good. It's nice that the author provided excerpts from the Bible. Very interesting to read and provided many valuable lessons. It's even divided into 5 parts. Thanks for the great review.

I'm not into historical fiction genre, and over them, those of religious nature. I guess I'll have to pass! Thanks for the review, this isn't my cup of tea!

I do not really enjoy historical fiction. Your review makes this book sound interesting from the way you explained how the author has expanded on the story of Gideon, however I will give this one a miss. Bound to be a great read for people who appreciate this genre.

I am not religious person, have a hard time reading the bible, I have a hard time reading poems, and the bible to me is kinda like a personal memoir that if only you know the person it would mean more to you. I think this story of Gideon would be a good fit for me because it sounds like it is in a language I can connect with. We shall see! ;) I've downloaded...

Re-tellings of famous ancient stories are always interesting! The bible is filled with stories that have been retold several times. Great Review!
