I love to live the characters as if I am between the book pages.
The more I go through events the more I can judge with justice.
Good review.. :tiphat:

I agree that we all have prejudices, whether we admit to it or not. I think it is how we handle these prejudices that tell what kind of a person we are, plus personally, I remember having prejudices, to the gay community for one. It wasn't until I got away from negative influences about it that I slowly got rid of my prejudice and was able to embrace the LGBTQ community. It also helped when my daughter came out to me.
I digress but thanks for the review!

Nice review stoppopping! It's a different name! :( OK get back to the story. I know about Pakistan/Bangladesh. Basically it was a war between India/Pakistan. Any ways I think storyline is good. So I would be try to read it and thanks to Fred Howard to provide us free copy of the book and congrats on BOTD. :tiphat:

Thank you for the great review. While I try to keep an open mind on all things, I know that I still have prejudices that are hard to overcome. This seems like the type of book that would make you take a look and wonder if those prejudices are worth it.

Thank you for the well-written review! I like how one of the main characters, a minister, is all about accepting and advocates for gay rights. The mystery aspect definitely sounds like it adds to the story nicely. It's too bad that the emotional aspect of the read is lacking. However, I'm glad that you were able to enjoy the story well enough!

I liked your review and it is definitely applicable to our current situation. I think that this book is a must read for everyone because it forces us to look at the prejudices that we hold onto. By accepting and educating ourselves like the main character in this book does, we can expand our social circle and become better people.

It is always a good thing when one is forced to face personal prejudice. If one becomes a bit uncomfortable in the process so much the better. I look forward toreading this novel as I am overtly aware of others prejudice, but don't think I have any. Maybe this book will change my mind.

This definitely sounds like an interesting book. Everyone has prejudices. As long as you examine them from time to time and learn something from them, it's all good. I believe that most stereotypes have some truth in them, but you have to realize not everyone conforms to them.

Im excited about reading this book. The official review took me back to when i married my college sweetheart, an Indian Sikh that grew up in the USA. Like the reviewer, our relationship made me question beliefs passed down by family members as well as aware of prejudices I had been unaware of til we stepped out in New Orleans, the college town where we met during our time at Tulane. i
enjoyed thevreview.
