I love 'faction' - fact-based fiction - and this looks like a great example of the type! I wish the author luck in finding the treasure trove!

Sounds like a really good western, not too many of those are written these days! Thanks for the review, I enjoyed the sample on Amazon. Looks like it's based on a true story.

A fairly short read but very intriguing and fun. I'm not much for history but I'm very sure those that love history will definitely love this more than I do.?

Great review! Seems like an exciting book, I can't say I've ever read a story based in the wild west with cowboys and Indians, but this one sounds good. :)

Thanks for your review! If it weren't for the preface, I would buy and read this book. The author gets the feel of the territory; I work at the only block left of the original city of Phoenix, and have learned a lot about the time period too. However, living in said AZ Territory, it's sad hearing about treasure hunters turning up dead or lost in places such as the Lost Dutchman Mine, whose treasure also has never been found. I just can't support what is a siren call to every amateur treasure hunter out there. Yavapai County is harsher terrain than Phoenix.

Well done for the review, it is very detailed. I am not into westerns and generally violent scenes and vulgar speech put me off. The review helped me to understsnd that this book is not for me.

Thank you for the detailed review. I am interested to know more about the Clevenger family. I want to know more about the late 1800s of Arizona through this historical fiction which was based on true accounts. The motivations of each character in the story are intriguing. This is a good read.
