This book sounds like it has a very interesting premise. Its a shame about the dull writing. Thanks for the great review!

Great review. I especially liked your conclusion. Hopefully, the author takes your recommendations and employs them in future books.

Too bad that the writing style negatively impacted the good plot and story finale. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the review. I get frustrated when a plot is good but the details and nitty gritty of the story are boring or circle around the main theme. From the sound of your review, it sounds like this did deserve a 3, at the most.

That's a shame that the bipolar disorder didn't figure more strongly into the story, especially since it was emphasized so strongly in the blurb.

This is a very well written review. I like the point you have made here about the writing style. I believe some authors do this in order to add to the backstory or to authenticate their historical part of the fiction.

I think historical fiction can be difficult to write. Thanks for the review, I will keep it in mind when I read the book.

Thanks for the detailed and honest review. This is my cup of tea. I love historical fiction. Another thing which interests me about this story are the historical narratives embedded in each chapter.

I too was intrigued by the mention of bipolar in the description. It's a shame it wasn't given prominence in the story. It did seem like an important element when the book was described. Still...looking forward to reading the first ten for a first impression. Thanks for your insightful review!

Sounds like an interesting read, despite the pages of history dropped in. A little disappointed to know that Bipolar Disorder is not more prevalent in the story, as that's what the blurb on Amazon states it's about. Great review! I might have to check it out.

Thank you for a very informative and nice review. I agree with a few of the other members about the fact that historical fact was in the narrative would make the book seem boring. This type of history is not something I normally read anyway and the fact that you gave your honest opinion about the Author's writing lacked and the book was boring because of it allows me to decide quickly on whether to read this so I think I will pass. Thanks for the great review.

Great Review!! I really enjoy a good historical fiction. I am interested in the story. I love when they are well researched but will have to see about the dropping of the facts into the narrative. Thanks!
