Great review. It's a very interesting book for those into that type of genre. I'm somewhat into history but based on the last notes, I'm gonna pass.

The title of the book, the water trade, helps to broaden my thought and left me so many outstanding ideas. It's a brilliant title that makes you want to look forward to reading the book.

i'm not into historical fiction because it can be too dragging sometimes. Thank you for this insightful review! You've written all I need to know.

The premise sounds very interesting, but I'm a little put off by how much historical information that was dumped throughout the book. I still look forward to the sample though!

I liked your review and I do agree that the author needed to focus more on the story than its history. I can see why this would be a very thrilling read, but I would have liked to know why the Japanese spy's mental illness was never a fully developed plot line.

Quite a read! A mother is convinced that her son's illness had a diagnosis. After much researching she finally found what seem to be the exact name and explanation of what her son had. Suddenly a tsunami hit the small town and evrything became chaotic.

I am a HUGE fan of historical fiction novels, so I'm looking forward to this read. Thank you for the free download. And I'm with Hannah Greendale, I winced a bit at the mention of entire pages left out. This review was very thorough and honest. Definitely was helpful, thank you!!

With reading this review, I am not sure it is something that I would be totally interested in. However, I am willing to give any book a try. I look forward to reading it. Congrats BOTD!

A good story can never gain popularity if the writing quality is bad. For me this book is a big no. Nice review anyway.

The book being a spy thriller piqued my interest. So, I was sad to know that the writing was found to be boring by the reviewer. But with the author dropping pages of historical information into the narrative, I think what the reviewer wrote is justifiable. The review is very helpful. Thanks.^^

Thank you for your good review. Historical fiction can be an exciting drama if handled correctly but I'm a bit disappointed to find out that this one is disjointed. :(
