I love to read books with a strong female character. I think I might add this to my reading list. Great job on the review!

The title of this book immediately had me intrigued. I love historical fiction and this novel about a woman's battle with a man who turns out not to be what she expected sounds like something I would enjoy. I'm glad there was only one mistake in the whole book. Great job on your review! I look forward to reading this story soon. :)

Thanks for the review. The info from Amazon sounds great and your review makes it sound even better. I am also glad to hear that it is so well edited. It makes it so much easier to read a book when there is less distraction with errors that could so easily have been avoided.

Your thorough review has piqued my interest to read this award-winning historical fiction book, if given the chance to.

Thanks for the nice review. I like the book because of its history of America and feminism and the efforts of women to survive in this period.

I'll surely read the book to know how Claire was able to survive all the aforementioned challenges. What a tough woman!

I am a fan of historical fiction and strong women characters. This is a great review of the genre, pointing out how women were viewed in that time and how someone like Claire would react in that time period. It has perked my interests and I have downloaded it to read.

Well, I'm so in there! This book is right up my alley, thanks for the awesome review! I've never believed that marriage was the 'be all and end all' for women and I'm sure glad Claire was able to break that stereotype by retaining her confidence in her independence. Definitely grabbing this one off the stand and onto my shelf!

Although I do not typically read historical fiction, the plot is intriguing and reminds me of similar books that I have on occasion read, and have enjoyed. After reading the review, I may just decide to see how Claire deals with the time she was brought up in and how she deals with being "just a young woman."

I do not usually enjoy historical fiction, but the 1950's are not too long ago for me to be able to relate to. It sounds like it has interesting themes and I enjoy stories about people who do not conform to society's expectations.
