From your review, it sounds like a captivating story about Japanse & Hawaii history, WW2 and the water trade ( Geisha entertainment). I enjoy historical fiction especially about cultures other than my own, therefore, I will likely read this one. Thank you for your review.

This seems like it could be a good story. I do like some history in my stories. I loved the movie about pearl harbor, so probably could read this. The book sounds like it has some light romance possible too, so that is an added positive. Not sure if I will read this yet, but is is a definite possibility.

This book is sure to delight fans of historical fiction. I especially like that secondary characters hold a significant relevance and that there are many twists and turns. The backdrops of Japan, Hawaii, and war time add an intense addition. Great review.

I really enjoy books that aren't predictable and that are set during WW2 so this book sounds right up my alley.

There seem to be a lot of different elements packed into this WWII era story, and an unexpected ending to top it all off! Thanks for the review!

It's fascinating to follow Arashi's journey from becoming an ensign in the Japanese Navy to turning into a spy for Japan during the start of WW2. This book doesn't disappoint.

Thanks, CatInTheHat for an intriguing review. I like WW2 set stories and reading about how the system known as geishas in Japan will further interest me. I also enjoy the historical narrative that is featured in this novel.

I do greatly enjoy books where you can't guess what's coming next. This one sounds interesting, I'd like to see who the characters really are.
Mad Hatter: "Have I gone mad?"
Alice: "I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.”

Thanks for the great review. I love historical fiction and this one I must read. I need to see how the lives of the two girls intertwine. Also the unpredictability of the book makes it more interesting.

Rob Smith's The Water Trade is an enthralling novel that includes love, history, and war. The story shows how people react to different situations and many times they don't act deliberately. Their mind plays a prime role in their actions. The review opined this is an intriguing story that kept him glued to the book from the beginning to the end of reading the entire book. I hope all readers may get entertained by this historical fiction.
