Although I do agree that this is a fine read I have to disagree about the immersion of the piece. I find that although the plot was very good it failed to completely pull me in. Party Dickson Pieczka writing style is quite jumpy and inconsistent, at times her descriptions were extremely immersive others were comparatively lacking.

I do recommend this novel to historical fiction fans, rich with romance and mystery a good read but not excellent. I disagree with your 4 out of 4 rating I myself would give a 3 out of 4 rating finding her writing style lacking.

Great review. One of the saddest issues addressed is women's rights until now they have not completely been taken as equal to men in many societies.

Historical fiction is a fickle beast. Typically, books have either very little plot but immerse a reader in an amazing piece of history or they're heavy in plot but don't give the setting as much love as they should.
Well said. It can be tough to find a readable work of historical fiction but when it is well done this is one of my favorite genres. Your review of Finding the Raven made me want to check out this book; thanks for a great review.

I love historical fiction especially if it explains the kind of life that was there then and the way women were treated. The book shows what women had to undergo a number of years ago before gender equality was accepted

Thank you for your review of Finding the Raven. Your enthusiasm for this novel makes it seem very interesting. I think I would enjoy reading this one. I rarely go for historical fictions, but I enjoy a good murder mystery and romances. Your review was well-written, thank you again. :D :D

Sounds interesting. I wonder how a raven comes into it? Or is it just a title thing?

I totally share same sentiment. Most times, historical fiction focus on establishing the setting that the plot of the novel is forgotten. Good to know the author put in a healthy combination of the setting and plot.

Great review

I really want to read this book. It has captivating details to it. Two different women with different problems, views and background, I wonder what will become of them.
