I can relate to Jame's dilemma, as his predicament is common among everyday people. I could sense how traumatic it would be for him to remember his past while going about his daily task. However, I sensed the plot would give a satisfactory resolution to the story's conflict at the end.

I guess James can pass for a cat with nine lives. Surviving all those circumstances shows that he is a fighter. I am definitely reading this book. I enjoyed reading your review.

Although I am a huge thriller fan, I draw the line at war stories. The carnage is just too horrifying and usually senseless. I am not sure James was lucky to be alive, considering his head injury, but everything happens for a reason, even in real life. I wonder why he was asked to stay away from his family.

'From Hell to Home: The Final Vietnam Story' by DJ Power intertwines trauma, bravery, and redemption in the tale of a resurrected soldier. The book promises a compelling mix of historical fiction, action, adventure, and romance, keeping you engaged as if watching a movie. Congratulations on being BOTD!

The story sounds great and the title foreshadows what we might find in it. I like historical, romance, and action books. Life doesn't easily give second chances no with fatal gunshot to the head but James had something better to do, I would love to read it. Thank you for the intriguing review Jay!

I found the first several pages I read, quite interesting. James' story will definitely be a good read. I had to pull myself away from his story, to keep from having two books going at the same time. I love history and am fascinated by the Vietnam War and the political upheaval during that time. Definitely going to add it to my TBR.

A historical fiction with such an intriguing plotline.
James would've been buried alive if the priest didn't detect the movement in the body bag.
I hope the second chance was really worth it.
Great review. And congrats on the BOTD.

I feel profanity has its place in a novel where you find yourself alive in a body bag, then being rescued only to be forced to take distance from your loved ones for a while. Sounds like a captivating story.

This historical novel has a captivating storyline If the priest hadn't seen movement in the body bag, James would have been buried alive. The second chance, I hope, was truly worthwhile. Congrats for winning the BOTD.

Historical fiction is something I like. The idea that James gets a second chance at life and has to deal with his head injury is intriguing to me even though I don't typically prefer war stories. Great review!

Your review was interesting. I usually don’t read war novels, but the plot of this one is enticing. I just can’t imagine not only the physical struggle, but the mental struggle James endured throughout the book.

This is not a genre that I generally choose, but your review and the short review of pages from Amazon have piqued my curiosity. Thank you!
