In the book Sandra Eden’s War by Mike Low, Sandra goes into the war zone in France where she meets Michel (The maqui agent who helps with the attacks). When she parachutes down to the landing area her parachute does not open and is thought to be dead. The commanders back at the home base sends another SOE agent, and is instructed to kill Sandra’s impersonator. Eventually, after Sandra convince the backup SOE agent that she is who she is, they go to the safe house and plan their attacks against the nazi’s. Can Sandra and her team pull off these attacks without getting caught?

This author definitely caught my attention. I got scared when Sandra got scared. I got happy and brave when Sandra did. I really felt Sandra’s feelings when she felt them. This author seemed experienced in the story telling part. Low had great explanations on how thought out the attacks were. He let me live in the era of World War Two. When I was reading the book, I thought, when would the war end? When I got back to reality I remembered the war did end. It shows what happened to help stop the war. I have not read any book from that perspective before, so this was a good change. The research done is exceptional.

This book could have shown more about when the agents get captured by the gestapos. It says they get captured but kind of blows through the how. For instance: how did Bobby get captured. The book said there might have been a informer. There was nothing about how they knew they got the right person. That would have made the book a little bit better than what it already is.

I do not think this book was professionally edited. There were some words that were misspelled such as: maneuver and coordinate. There could have been better self editing or a professional editor could edit the book when it was done. I give this book a 3 out of 4. The book could have been better, but it is still good.

I recommend this book to those who like to read historical fiction. This shows the other side of the war. Most historical fiction books about World War Two is about the victims who weren’t able to do anything. Learning how the victims survived is important, but this shows how the agents and allies fought.
