I am intrigued to read the profanity throughout this "faction." I do not mind the ton of swear words, but I would worry about the overwhelming amount of characters and their story development through this 50-year novel. Nonetheless, I appreciate how insightful your review was!

‘The Dogs of Brownsville’ by Stan Weisleder looks like a kinda mobster and friends in-the-beginning book. It might even be a coming-of-age book because it spans 50 years?!
It starts with
Mongoose and Venus and goes back in time to when they and all their friends started high school.
It looks like a very interesting story.

I personally love "faction" books. I love when an author brings heir own knowledge to an imaginary world making it more realistic.

This book seems phenomenal. I like that it seems so realistic and is historical fiction, so it will likely be educational and entertaining. Congratulations on book of the day!

At least the author is honest about the amount of profanity used. In spite of the profanity, it sounds like a well written book. Thank you for the insightful review.

Un relato interesante, que encierra historia- ficcion, donde varios personajes son protagonistas, aunque si debo admitirlo no soy mucho de ciencia ficcion, pero muy bueno.

I personally don't like reading about historical events but like reading fictional stories and if it weren't for your interesting review, I would skip this one because of the history it entails. In as much as one can overlook the profanity in the book, I find it intriguingly funny because of your pun: "It might even be a new Guinness World Record"

I’m not big on books with lots of profanity or mafia-style stories. Thanks for the review though!

I am intrigued by the reason why the title of this book is "The Dogs of Brownsville." I am also intrigued by the fact that this book is a "faction" (according to the author). Since the OBC review stated that Lawrence Cohen is the "most crucial character", then I am naturally most fascinated by his character.
Congratulations to the author for BOTD!

I love historical fiction based on facts as a genre. At first I didn’t know what type of story it is until you mentioned mafia. I definitely want to read this. Thanks for your review!

"The Dogs of Brownsville" by Stan Weisleder is a historical fiction story but Stan gives readers the impression that he lived in Brownsville at the time he wrote the book. The setting is a neighborhood in NYC that was predominantly Jewish and Italian. Each chapter tells the story of a different character and the events take place over a five-decade period. An interesting story that covers a very long period of time. Good review.

Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres, and by your description, I can see why it reminded you of "Once Upon a Time in America." I'm wondering what the storyline is. It could be good if it includes the Mafia and Las Vegas casinos!

In The Dogs of Brownsville by Stan Weisleder, the portrayal of legendary historical figures seems unique, and I would love to know how they play their roles in this combination of fact and fiction.

'Official Review: The Dogs of Brownsville' by Stan Weisleder presents the contents of the book in a nutshell. It is enlightening and informative. The point that the story is a mafia-related historical fiction is worth mentioning in the review. Also, the point that the appearance of legendary historical figures from American history like Howard Hughes and Meyer Lansky are additional elements that make the book enthralling, as mentioned in the review, is remarkable for readers. It was great to learn that this work reminded the reviewer of the movie 'Once Upon a Time in America'!

This is a historical fiction. Stan Weisleder seems so imaginatively weave his fiction in the historical Brownsville. His brings a longitudinal study of Brownsville. Very interesting, I would like to read this sometime. You have written the review so well. Congratulations on the BOTD!
