Although I love that the author weaves emotional aspects into the story, I am not a particular fan of historical fiction, with or without romance. I think I will be passing on this one, but one of my daughters is a lover of all things Spartan, so I will be recommending it to her. Wonderfully written review, I enjoyed it greatly!

I love ancient history, it seems so far and close at the same time with its naivety and brutality intertwined. I believe there will be much to br found in this story of young man turning warrior and can't wait to delve in this great adventure!

Congratulations on a very interesting and thorough review! I know very little about the ancient Greeks, and there are so many books on topics that enthrall me, so I think I will excuse myself from this book. It does, however, look like it's very well written and educational.

I am a huge fan of ancient times. So a coming-of-age story about a Spartan sounds perfect. I can't wait to check this out. Congrats on the book of the day. Great review.

This book is about the Spartan era in Greece. The Greek people brought a lot of things like democracy, theatre and arts. Thanks for the review.

A coming-of-age story of a Spartan's life that details some specific physical and emotional battles sounds intriguing.

Your review made this novel sound exciting! It seems the author has produced a well balanced novel!

Nikos sounds like an interesting character. I like the realism he adds to the story.

I like the facts about Greek culture! The fact that I can read about it through this fictional book is amazing. Congrats to the author for BOTD! :)

Good review. I love anything with Spartans. This seems interesting that Nikos is struggling between his feelings for a woman and those of being the true soldier he has trained to be. I can’t wait to find out what happens.

I enjoy historical fiction, but I think that I'm going to pass on reading this book. It doesn't pique my interest from the blurb or your review so I don't think that this book will be a good fit for me.
