I love historical Korean dramas and I bet I'd love this too. I wouldn't mind the shortcomings. Thanks for the review.

This time of history is sth I rarely got a chance to read about. The time of Korea under the Japan rule, I've heard a bit and would love to delve deep into.

Informative review! It answers a lot of questions I have about this toptic in terms of whether the book covers the historical relationship between Korea and Japan. A good historical fiction does indeed comprise a "very strong sense of character, time, and place".

Another way of knowing history is by reading fictional books about them. This book fits that category. Thank you for the insightful review.

The very wholesome great review signifies the significance of the book and its texture as beautiful. Something fascinates the readers over history of Japanese ruled once the Koreans and their longing to break the reins, and everything transpired. Thank you yours is such a crystalline review.

Thanks for your review. It's kind of refreshing to read a book with Asian concepts. I'm curious about how the relationship between Japan and Korea will be described in this book.

I'm not really into history but would love to watch it as a movie. Asian movies are always interesting to watch so I believe even this book can get a great deal of attention in a version of movie.

This is an extensive review of review of an equally comprehensive book. I also don't like when books have too many detours as it breaks the flow and affects the overall enjoyment.

I've always liked Korean drama, but it is only recently that I have begun to ponder on their history. I believe this book would be a good place to start from in learning the Korean history.
Thank you for this fine detailed review.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. The many different point of views put me off slightly. I would have rather read it trough the eyes of a singular main character...

Another historical fiction added to my bookshelf! I'm more interested in this than usual. Other than being the book of the month, this is also about the history of Korea at the turn of the 20th century. I'm also a fan of their songs and drama, but reading about their history will be a welcome change.
