Sounds like a story that could be told in any generation. Who doesn't come from a dysfunctional family anymore? That being said, I think I would probably like this book, since you give it 4 stars. I liked the author writing the names of the characters at the beginning before the book starts. That's done with plays, and I always find that helpful. Thanks for your review.

The story seems taken from real life events. The complexity of the characters' lives is so vivid that I was thinking you were going to write 'based on real events'. Good thing you could keep up with the storyline despite the amount of characters. Thanks for the review!

I've just begun this novel, and your review reflects some of my own thoughts about what I've read so far. Yes, the various plotlines are something to keep up with, but the book is so well-written that it more than makes it worth it.

Thanks.

Thank you for the in-depth review of American River:Tributaries by Mallory M. O’Connor. At first I thought this was a geographical book, but then realized it is a trilogy of three American families from different nationalities. It sounds like a though-provoking, historical fiction that would appeal to me and thus I downloaded it.

For a minute there, I almost had trouble keeping up with the names of the characters but I discovered they are interesting and likable. Thanks for the great review!
