The mix of Japanese culture, political intrigue, suspense and drama makes this a must-read for me! I love a story where I can’t forecast the ending and this one seems to have all the elements that will keep me turning pages right to the end! Thanks for a great review.

Awesome review! Sounds like an fast-paced and suspenseful story. I am interested to read the book and find out what some of the plot twists are. The historical fiction aspect intrigues me, I am always curious as to how authors take a topic based in historical fact and expand upon it.

This sounds like an excellent book to read. I like historical fiction, and WWII is a time I'm interested in as my parents lived during that time, and my father was a soldier in Japan during WWII. That this story takes them beyond WWII and follows their lives beyond WWII would be a fun part because we often don't get to see how characters lives continue beyond the war. Thank you for your review.

This book has a very enticing cover so that started my excitement, your review cemented it! I know a little bit about Japan's history but not a lot, it would be fun to learn more. I love historical fictions and it sounds like this one is a real page-turner. I can't wait to get started on it!

While my father was at Pearl Harbor, I have never cultivated an interest in WWII literature. Your review has intrigued me, however. This book might be a nice way to check out this time period in history. Thanks for the great review.

A WWII era story from the perspective of the Japanese people sounds amazing and intriguing. I liked the Yoshimura character the most already. Can't wait to read it!

Great review. I’m interested to find out how she gets involved with the American man, and Arashi the bookkeeper. I love historical fiction and learning about the Japanese culture. The Geisha traditions are interesting how it is so erotic without being as vulgar as today’s sex industry.

Your review was excellent. I love books you can get lost in. It sounds like a good story, but that time period is not one of my interests. WWII is a topic that is of interest to some of my family. I will pass this on to them.

The Water Trade by Rob Smith is a #HistoricalFiction set in #Japan revolving around #Espionage, #WorldWar2, geisha system, and #BipolarDisorder; featuring the 3 primary characters - Arashi Sasaki (a Japanese Imperial Navy ensign), Miyuki (a tea house bookkeeper), and Smitty (an American sailor).

I found the book intriguing. Thanks for the succinct review.
