Toni the Superhero by R.D Base
Toni the superhero is a children’s book written by R.D Base and illustrated by Debbie Hefke. It is a story of a young boy who is bent on bringing the reader to love and enjoy doing everyday activities such as reading, playing and helping around the house. Any young reader who reads the book is bound to have a positive outlook towards different activities around the home that would generally be viewed as tedious or boring to them.
The character of Toni makes children who find following rules in the house look like fun to them. Cleaning after themselves, taking time to read and eating healthy foods! Any mother who has a child that doesn’t like doing these activities will greatly benefit and see an amazing transformation in their children. Children are bound to relate with other children and are greatly influenced especially by superheroes.
The use of simple words and colorful picture illustrations makes it easy for any child to read and picture themselves doing these activities. The illustrations on their own will actually help a child who doesn’t know how to read yet interpret the storyline using the pictures.
Toni the superhero costumes encourages the children to have creative imagination which could bring out gifting’s in children who love creating or re-creating from what they have seen. They could try making similar costumes for themselves using available materials around the house. This is a fun activity that could help in parent- child bonding as they help their children create their own superhero characters!
I rate this book 4 out of 4 star because the writer has covered a whole range of activities in the home and making these activities fun while building a moral landscape for the children.
