A Review of Toni the Superhero by R.D. Base by: Rebeca Hooper
This book is a good starter book for children just learning to read. I give it a 4 out of 4 as a children’s book. This is a great tool to help parents make it fun and easy to teach their child to read by using repetition and using activities that children do every day. Using a superhero character makes it fun for the child to read as well. They will be entertained while they learn.

The words are simple and repeated multiple times to help the child remember what they are seeing. It describes all the things the superhero likes to do each day. The pictures go well with each activity and reinforce what the child has just read. The pictures are well drawn and simple enough for a child to comprehend what activity is happening on each page.

This book would be good to use as kindergarten and first grade level reading material. It will help them learn specific words from repetition and visual association. It has common site words that teachers have children work on throughout the year. Using this book would be beneficial to their reading progress. They are going to need to learn to read so why not make it fun for them and easy for you to help them.

This book is definitely a reading tool. Over time they will need to move on to new books as this is very repetitive, so they will need new material after they master this one. It will only hold their attention while they are learning to read these specific site words. It would be good to use with other books so they can rotate the material they are using to hold their attention. Once they master it they will need something a little more challenging to keep them interested in reading.

To sum this up, if you want a book that is a fun way to start reading I recommend this one. It is definitely a great way to get your child excited about reading. It will be a great starting tool to help them become a confident reader. It will reinforce words they are already learning at school using a fun character to bring those words to life. This book is a fun way to learn to read. This is a 4 out of 4 reading tool.

I definitely agree with you that this is not just a book, but also a reading tool. I can't wait to see what Toni will get up to in his next books!
