Review of Brave Words for little hearts

[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Brave Words for little hearts" by Sheila Anthony.]
Brave Words for Little Hearts: Positive Affirmations for kids is beautifully written by Sheila Anthony. This children's book is very uplifting and positive. The affirmations are easy to be read by smaller children. And each page has colorful artwork that emphasizes the affirmation. I like the diversity of the children that are depicted in the artwork. This makes it a worthwhile book for every child to read. It is the perfect bedtime or anytime storybook for parents or older siblings to read to the little ones.
The affirmations are so positive and honest that the person reading the book will enjoy sharing it with others. The vocabulary written on each page is suitable for young readers. There are some bigger words like "universe," but that is good because it will teach the reader new words. And the artwork on every page is so well done that it brought a smile to me.
Some of the other big words used are "adventurous" and "discovery." You can see from the artwork what those words convey. The little boy is skillfully drawn, and he is using a set of binoculars to discover his next adventure. Another big word used is "wonderful." I really like this word because it reminds me of when I was young and learned the word "excellent." My teacher had written "excellent" on one of my homework assignments, and once I learned what that word meant, I practiced writing it over and over again. Then, on Mother's Day, when I created a card for my mother with crayons and glitter, I made sure to let her know that she was an excellent mother.
The dedication page is very eye-catching. I like how beautifully drawn the little girl is, and I like how big her smile is. The hearts that surround the dedication really show a young reader they are loved.
On the About the Author page is a very good drawing of what the author might look like. The author dedicated this book to her daughter. So, she is a proud mom who is a member of the armed forces. Her dedication to her country and daughter shines through on every page of this book. I want to take this time to thank the author for her service. She is keeping the world safe for all of us.
I found this book to be flawlessly edited, as there were no typos or grammatical errors. There was nothing that I didn't like about the book and how it was laid out. Every page had a perfect affirmation that would make anyone smile. It is for these reasons that I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
