Thanks. I usually love children's books and the premise was brilliant since Sri Lanka is such a colourful place. But you're absolutely correct that the book was too long. Also, perhaps because this is a series, the main animals weren't fleshed out enough. I liked the add-on characters like Meena, Rani and the leopard mama, because they were far more fleshed out. It was a lovely little introduction to Sri Lanka and made me want to visit, but the actual adventure seemed added on. Still, if the rest of the series is shorter and give this kind of introduction to other countries, I'll pick em up.

Although I am a fan of mystery books, I might have to pass RF Kristi's "Serendipity Mystery." I like graphic novels; but I like the illustrations to be an integral part of the story. I also don't like mysteries that are constantly interrupted with unnecessary scenes. However, I appreciate your review! Thanks!

Sounds like a very fun mystery to solve for kids. I like that it has cat characters.

I quite enjoyed this children's book. I didn't mind at all that Inca's journey into the forest. She was looking for her brother which I found to be quite heartwarming. There are many valuable lessons in this book which parents can share with their children.

I really liked the book, but I think some kids would have troubles finishing it, specially if they are still too young. Mostly due to its length, that while for an adult might be nothing, could be too much for the attention frame of a child.

Just finished reading the book and I agree with you on the jungle scene part. It seemed to be a bit distracting to me too. Thanks for the well structured review.
