This book sounds fantastic. I know so many kids who would be enthralled with it as they love anything gross. If it is gross, it is automatically hilarious. I will have to recommend it to several young families that I know. Thanks for the review.

I love gross kid humor in picture books too! Reminds me of the poem "Bleezer's Ice Cream" by Jack Prelutsky.

I like children's stories with clear lessons which a typical child can easily understand. I think the driving moral of the importance of cleanliness in Len Foley's Sigfried’s Smelly Socks! is a very relatable one.

I agree with you! This is a lovely book that will give readers plenty of 'acting' opportunities as they imagine the smells they see. Beautifully illustrated with digital tools too.

A tale exploring gross smells sounds original. Not hard to guess the source of the smell, as the title gives us a small hint. Still, the concept is original. It is great that the narrative is told through short, rhyming paragraphs, and that there aren't too many unfamiliar terms. Not for me, but kids will probably find it hilarious. Thank you for the review!

Thanks for your review! The book sounds perfect for young children since they tend to have a morbid fascination with things that are gross.

An honest review. I just wondered if the phrase 'a young boy trying to find out why his book smells' was a mistake and whether it should have read 'his socks' instead, but that is not so important overall. However, the notion of a smelly book provoked my interest and I tried to figure out if it had anything to do with smelly notes, papers etc.
On the other hand, the powerful and gross sets of colorful images this book paints are definitely a mnemonic device, especially for young minds. Why referring only to a boy could be another question though:-) The sense of humor is undoubtedly original too.

I read the book with my nephew and he thought the book was great. Some parts were gross but there were funny bits too. This book is great when teaching kids about cleanliness.
