This book sounds riotously funny. The antics remind me of Dr. Seuss. I too thought the illustrations were wonderful. Thanks for the great review!

The Worst Pet Peeve Ever" by Anne Marie Hanlon Cook Review

The book relates on our everyday lives. Peeve's are like problems that everyone of us is facing daily, that we need to get used to it even its annoying and problematic, just like the mother that peeve's became part of her daily routine thus became a habit that she could not get away from it. It really annoys her that make her influence her peers even neighborhood. But when the time came that she realize the influence of that peeve to her and to her attitude, she chose to faced it and kept away from it so that her family won't be affected.

That is how the story goes to me that i can really relate on. With this book, i came to realize that problems came normally and they are not meant to be think of or become problematic that affects our daily lives and attitude that made us worst person but problems are meant to be solved.

The author sounds extremely creative, just starting with a play on words and turning that into an entire disaster situation. I understand why one would think the book is suitable for early independent readers, but I can't help thinking that young children wouldn't necessarily get all the humour. I know that my 10 year old cousin doesn't always see the humour in puns, so maybe this could be a bit of a setback

This sample is sassy,
it gave me quite a chuckle
although it sounds like
the Mom may never buckle

My pets are
the delight of my life
My peeves only give me
additional strife

But children will love
the poetic rhymes
and the illustrations
are kid-friendly fine

No doubt the author is an animal lover..she tries to make the world see the importance of pets in our lives.
Yeah, i agree with her. A home is so boring without a pet or two.
The mom in the story is annoyed with pets. She even influences other to be a pet peeve too. Haha,my own mother's pet peeve is the cat's stinky poop.

On the other hand, reader MorneB is right.Young children cant easily grasp the humor in this story especially to those who aren't a native english speaker.
