No need to apologize! I always viewed Wales as both English and Welsh. You taught me something new...that's a good thing. :)

Such a detailed review. Looks like I won't be reading this one though.

As others said, the premise is so promising, it is too bad that it didn't come together with a more cohesive plot line. I am still tempted to check it out, because your review made me curious.

There were a lot of good parts of this book. The pieces just didn't mesh well into a great book, but I still appreciated the interesting parts.

The characters are flesh out well and I could clearly picture each of them. Griffin is a who has to get a likable boy who has to get used to living with his eccentric relatives in a creepy old house.
My main problem with his book is that the plot is not cohesive. To determine what the central plot was through a large part of the story.

A weak plot is a major turn off for readers. I hope that the author will try to improve it.

Too bad the plot wasn't, as you say, very cohesive. Wouldn't it be too confusing for young readers? The book cover kind of reminds me of Gravity Falls.

A sudden tragedy and a mystery object could be culprit? It doesn't sound as a bad start. Too bad the author didn't know what direction to take with the storyline. Thanks for the review!

Thanks everyone for taking the time to read my review and post a comment! Kalin Adi, that's exactly what I thought when I started the book. The beginning was very promising. As the story progressed, I felt like the author was so focused on writing individual, interesting scenes and descriptions that she dropped the ball on moving the plot forward in a specific direction.
