Farmer Beau's Farm by Kathleen Geiger
Farmer Beau and his wife take good care of the kittens until they grew up. However, while the days passed, the kittens left the farm one by one which made the couple felt sad. Luckily, one kitten remained and they decided to keep her and gave her name “Kailey”. They always gave her food and also prepared a house for her to stay and feel comfortable and not to leave the farm. Kailey was playful, helpful and always friendly to the other animal on the farm. Kailey met Samantha Bunny and they become the best of friends. One day, Kailey and Samantha heard Farmer Beau and Bamma happily talking about bringing a new animal in the farm. The news made them worried that Farmer Beau and Bamma might not give them attention anymore if the new animal arrived and it might push them out in the farm.
I can say that this book is effective and attractive for the children because there were pictures and illustrations which helped them easily visualized what is really happening in the story. This story has many lessons children can learn. It will teach them to be friendly to others just like Kailey and Samantha Bunny become friends even though they are not the same animals. It will teach children to share and not to be selfish like Kailey in the story who shared the farm to Samantha.
Furthermore, it will teach children to be helpful like Kailey who helped Samantha looked for a comfortable place to stay. Lastly, Farmer Beau and Bamma showed a very good example of people in this story because they take good care of animals that need help and care. Some of these lessons can be emphasized to the children for them to practice it in their life.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book is recommended to be read to the children. It is also nice to ask the children what they have learned after they have listened to the story for them to remember and practice the lessons they learned in this book.
