Children's books about friendship are the best!! I'm a little too old for this but this looks like something every elementary school library should have.

The characters are well-rounded and posited in a way that caters to young children, letting them enjoy the theme of the party and having fun with friends and family which is a pleasant idea for the reader to focus on. Yet the sub-theme of being hurt and helped to recover quickly is a gentle reminder that life is not lived in a bubble, thus opening an avenue for discussion and reassurance on a rare but possible life-event.

it sounds like a lovely story to me and suitable for kids who are starting early to read, the pictures used will also grab the attention of the early young readers thereby inculcating the habit of reading in them.
Great Review

I don't celebrate birthdays but I love the messages of love, friendship, and sharing.

The Official Review says it all. I couldn't add any more useful insight than the Official Review's version. All I can add is, the book is a very good and ideal tool to induce a reading culture in children.

:) This book written by Nicola J. Rowley. Is very ease to read without much difficulty for children in the Kindergarten and early pre-school pupils . I really like this book entitled "JAMES AND THE BIRTHDAY BALLOON". I am a teacher and I would really recommend this book for my primary pupils to read.

I enjoyed this book. However, I had trouble reading it on my kindle. On some of the pages the text went right through the picture. Does anyone else have this problem.

Is it like ' Poppleton ' ? No, it is emotional that uneviles Ruby's birthday party and how James her friend helps her!
