From the beautiful cover illustration to the excellent moral behind The Oregon Kids: Runaway Whiskers, I think Bob Richley has done great job. Children's stories are always my thing and this one will definitely get a reading from me.

The illustrations are excellent. The story is nicely written for individuals just above the learn-to-read stage and is short enough to not exhaust inexperienced readers. It's a cute story and teaches a lesson.

Great review! I love books for kids that teach them something as they grow up. There is plenty of time for pure entertaining books once the are old enough.

recommendable for children and young at heart. this book's lesson is something we really should learn as child. it's unfortunate though that some people forget about it as they grew older.. anyways, good job on the insightful review!

This children's book teaches a valuable lesson of respecting other people's property. It teaches kids to give back what belongs to someone else. That honesty is the best policy and you get blessed by doing what is right.

I never tire for children's books! It's always important that children learn morals from an early age. I bet this book tackles the subject of stealing superbly such that it earns total marks! Thanks for another great review. :D

I found the stories engaging, with good lessons for kids. I have had the conversation about empathy (how would you feel if this happened to you) that is found in "Runaway Whiskers" countless times with my 3 kids and it always helps them see a new perspective. It would be a good choice for advanced readers as the word and syntax choice would be hard for beginning readers to understand.

The only negative point I have is the font choice and size and the placement of the words. I found it distracting and I suspect a larger simpler font would be easier to focus on especially for the intended audience. The word block is not always balanced on the page and the string of black bunnies along the bottom add to the imbalance.

Overall, the story is one I would read my kids, but the page layout of the text needs work.

I agree with the review. The illustrations are delightful and the cover definitely reeled me in. I also like the lesson on compassion towards fellow beings.

This seems like a good book for younger readers to read! I like how there are illustrations included. Great job on the review!

Great to use a story to get kids to think that if they find something, that means someone else has lost it. It's good that this book helps them to learn to do the right thing if they find something belonging to someone else, as well as about animals and the responsibility of taking care of them.
This post was brought to you by the word "specifically".

Excellent review. I have two very young nephews would enjoy being read this book and learning the lesson of returning something that belongs to someone else. I wish adults would follow the same lesson. The part about Johanna being crushed about losing Whiskers hit home for me since my family recently lost a pet we've had for 11 years. Once again, excellent review.

A very nice children's book for teaching responsibility and also for working through a child's feelings if they lose a pet. Good review-thanks.
