Having two young children myself this is the sort of story I would read to them. The review was very informative. The story seems entertaining but also has a subtle message to deliver. Reading the book to children would help better explain the importance of accepting and learning to live with differences. Our world is a beautiful diverse world and it would be beautiful if our children would learn to integrate in it.

Thanks for the review! I think the book would be perfect for children, however, I wasn't a total fan of the art style used (but that is only because I am an artist myself and do tend to look at things like that). Other than that the story seems like a fun idea, and could be used to get children perhaps used to the idea of a new sibling.

It sounds a funny one that I can't miss reading. Kids and even adults can really enjoy it if it is a movie.

From reading your review, it was evident how you liked this book. This is an excellent way to teach children values. The author was right to say that although we all have differences, we can learn to get along.

I agree with you on the imagery, there is something inherently fun about the way that the pictures are drawn in this book. Thank you for the review.

This sounds like a really cute children's story. Although I personally am not around kids at all, I definitely think kids would get a kick out of this book. I love the picture of the giraffe on the cover. Great review!

Good job on writing the review!

The sample was only a couple quick pages, but from what I could tell, it was a great book for a child that is old enough to read and one that can recognize feelings of a new sibling coming to the home, no matter how. (Birth/foster/adoptions). I love that there are books out there like this. Children need something to help them adjust and books are a great way of doing that.

One thing I thought would be a little difficult for the child would be the names of the husband and wife. They are unusual and for children learning to read, might be a little difficult for them to take on.
It's Always Worth the Read.

Thank you for the review. I also read the sample. I like that siblings can be unrelated! The idea of a mystery animal coming to the farm would be intriguing to children, and the concern that the new one may be loved more is pertinent - a great concern to address! What if the new animal is weird, and how will that affect us? -wow! talk about hitting the nail on the head with that theme! Sounds like a terrific book to have in the children's library!
