I enjoy all the Dr. Seuss books that I can get my hands on. I have three writer idols and Dr.Seuss is one of them. Green Eggs and Ham was a book that was read to me constantly as a child and it changed my life. It made me love reading and eventually writing too. His books are classics and I'm grateful every time I get to read his books to children.

Rhyme-wise, this is probably my favorite Seuss book for its rhyme scheme, but theme-wise, I still prefer Oh The Places Youll Go more. Its a good book still though for kids.

Yes. I also have good memories reading some of Dr.Seuss's books, and my parents read a lot of hem to me.

This was a great book and a favorite among my childhood books. The rhyming is very catchy, and Dr. Suess made his books easy to follow for beginning readers. This book, though, is my favorite among all of his works.

Dr. Suess books still make me happy as an adult. The whimsical nature of his works are the best part and I love the fabricated and unique characters he has. Green Eggs and Ham urges children to try new things and his rhyming words help children with phonemic awareness. This one is not my favorite Dr. Suess book since it's meaning is not as deep as The Sneechers or The Lorax, but it still is a classic.

I agree with all of you. The rhythm and repetition are fun and useful to new readers. That said I am not sure I want to eat green eggs.

Green Eggs and Ham is definitely one of my favorite children's book. I've long wished this one could somehow be made into a live-action film, a la The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and The Cat in the Hat (but better than the latter, *lol*). I even started creating a script for it several years ago, even though I knew there was no hope of actually getting it made.

And I agree with everyone else; the repetition is great and now that I'm in a band and writing my own hip-hop song, I even wonder to myself sometimes, 'What would Dr. Seuss write'? *lmao*

Green Eggs and Ham is a favorite in our house too. Even my son, who is now 8, still enjoys it.

Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss was one of the few books by him that my daughters asked me to read repeatedly. We had the whole series but they only liked a handful of them.
