I'm a fellow dog-owner and I have to say that this sounds like an adorable book, made all the better by the included pictures. I also like that the book could open up conversation about rescue pets, as there are faaar too many pets in shelters these days... Thanks for the introduction and thorough review!

Not only dogs are creatures of habit, we humans are too. I like that the story encompasses Bear's different stages in life. I get the idea that he grows old with the Porters, which is heartwarming. I've always thought animals are part of the family. It'd be great if the author gives this book another round of editing, so the readers could enjoy it without any disruption. I really love dogs and that's why i think I'll really be able to relate to this book. The name bear for a dog is really amusing. This sounds like a good story for kids and i think that they'll really appreciate such a touching story. Great review.

A non fiction book for children about animals that have been rescued from an orphanage would be an interesting one to read. Children are delicate people, emphasis on correct grammar has not been exergerrated by the reviewer. A statement of facts.

It's always been hard for me to read stories about dogs since I lost one a few years ago and am currently attached to the dog I have now. But I hope kids get a real education about shelter dogs and that they rescue them when they get older.

This is a lovely children's story that my nephew would love. He loves our German Shepherd and loves telling stories about her. As a rescue dog that brought so much joy to his family, this story encourages more people to adopt pets and give them a loving home.
