Seems like a beautiful story. Though I am a cat person I can relate the playful nature, being stressed about new addition to home etc to my cat "Pachu".

A book about an actual dog, and with photos to back it up... Very heartwarming.

I think this is best story to share for the young ages and to all ages I guess. For them (us) to know the value of Love on having a pet. It gives unconditionally love and put happiness in our life. This is very important at the very young age of a child should be teach to them to care, love and be kind to evry animal.

It's a good story. Cause i always adopt abandoned dogs and i can relate on the scenes specially if there is a new things in our house. But over all. It's a nice story and the children will learn how to love and take care dogs.

While this official OBC review of "Bear" seems positive, I am disappointed that the free sample of the book on Amazon doesn't include any actual excerpts from the book beyond the copyright notice and the title.

I love the sound of all of the stories and the comment that kids would love these stories at bedtime makes this sound like it would be a great book for my kids. I’m looking forward to sharing it with them!

It's not very often that I run across a non-fiction book for kids that mine enjoy. But I think my kids would love this one about a rescue dog named Bear.

It sounds like a wonderful and heartwarming story on its own, but I'm sure the photos make it even better and even more appealing to children! I like your point about the potential for discussion about rescue animals as well as about realistic expectations about aging in pets. Thanks for a great review!

Sounds like a cute children's book, not only portraying the love of the family pet but also the adjustments that have to occur to include a dog in the family (like allowing time to acclimate to the pool). Thanks for the review!

Thanks for a review :) I'm a dog lover myself so I think I might check out the book. And I think non-fiction children's books are quite rare? And I agree, the name Bear for a dog is very amusing. Just knowing that already made me smile.

I'm glad many people love dogs. I'm really scared of dogs, even the puppies. I'm sorry to hear about the flat writing style and the grammatical errors. Children who are dog lovers might love flipping the pages this book with Bear's pictures. Thanks for the detailed review.
