I enjoyed your review. It can be hard to do an in-depth review like that on such a short book, but you did it well, I didn't feel like I was reading filler, but actually was drawn into the possibilities of a cute children's book. I agree with several of the other commenters, it seems like illustrations versus actual photographs on the cover and inside would enhance the book, but also broadcast who the audience was. Until I read your review I was not quite certain if it was a book aimed at adults or not.

What an interesting book. I love pumpkins and there's a recipe included? That's a plus for me.

This book sounds like it has a wonderful context! All kids like to know where things originate, and even for that child who may be a “picky” eater, he or she could learn where a pumpkin pie comes from and help make one! I agree with you on illustrations versus photographs especially for young kids. Drawings, good ones, are my preference, but it sounds like this book is well done despite the photo choices. Very nicely done review. Thank you.
