I remember enjoying the movie, but for some reason I have yet to read the book. However, after reading all of the praise for it I will definitely be moving it up on my want-to-read list!

This was my absolute favorite book growing up. I actually still have my original copy and have now shared this beautiful story daughter. I love how it reaches you that while obedience to a point is good, being yourself and standing up for yourself is just as important.

I've watched the movie but never read the book. The movie wasn't that great but I don't know about the book.

Hah, the movie was a joke and a poor one at that. They CREATED new characters that never existed! The movie, if viewed as a completely separate entity, was kind of cute. Good music, funny, super cheesy. But the book was hands down so much better. This is one of my all time favorite books by one of my all time favorite authors. I've read nearly everything she's written! Ella Enchanted is classic and a must read for any fairy tale fanatic, in my personal opinion. DID YOU KNOW SHE'S WRITING A PREQUEL?! Gah! It's called Ogre Enchanted!!

I've only ever seen the movie. Took me a couple years after I first watched it to realize it had been a book first. I really liked the movie, so maybe I should read the book. I might enjoy that even more.
